    Claudia brought her colleague Elizabeth Benson from Auburn University to SongShop for this one-time event.

    Elizabeth Benson is Assistant Professor of Musical Theatre at Auburn University. She specializes in crossover vocal techniques, including belting for the classically trained singer. She serves as the Department of Theatreís principal singing instructor and music director. She will be presenting a clinic at the NATS (National Association of Teachers of Singing) later in the week, but we get to have her all to ourselves for a session at DePaul. www.elizabethannbenson.com

    Wydetta Carter, singer-actress: National tours of Dreamgirls, How to Succeed in Business, Ainít Misbehavin, as well as performing in productions of Best Little Whorehouse in Texas, Little Shop of Horrors, The Trojan Women, Annie, and Showboat, in regional theatres across the country, and the Court Theatre's Porgy and Bess. Over a thousand performances of Menopause, the Musical in Chicago and on tour, for which Chirs Jones of the Chicago Tribune wrote: "Wydetta Carter has been doing her Tina Turner impression since this show opened a year ago. Breakout sessions include Expanding on Grooves, Feels and Tempo, Vocal Improvisation, and Thinking Outside the Box.
